The Japanese manufacturer and retailer Uniqlo has teamed up with the Italian luxury brand Marni to bring us their first-ever collaboration, which merges and reimagines Uniqlo’s staple pieces with Marni’s distinctive use of color and pattern.
“I’ve been hugely excited about this collaboration since the start,” said Marni’s creative director, Francesco Risso, in a press release Uniqlo sent the Cut. And ever since we received the news, we’ve been excited, too.
As avid Uniqlo shoppers ourselves (I swear by Uniqlo U trousers and linen button downs), we’re here for the skirts, the pants, the dresses, and the rest of the Uniqlo x Marni SS22 collection, which will be available in a full range of men’s and women’s sizes with prices ranging from $12.90 to $179.90.

Maybe. If you’re a fan of Uniqlo, especially its designer collaborations, then you shouldn’t sleep on this launch. In a world where luxury brands like Balenciaga are collaborating with more accessible brands like Adidas still maintaining those Balenciaga prices, our wallets (and personal style) certainly welcome this happy medium in terms of pricing, good quality, and design.
Another thing you shouldn’t sleep on? The menswear options of the Marni x Uniqlo collaboration. While the women’s midi skirts and the billowy blouses are top contenders on my list from the collab, the button-down shirts and the pleated pants from the men’s section will most likely be the ones to come home with me. Clothing is just clothing, after all.
On May 26, the Marni x Uniqlo collection will be available at select stores and online at uniqlo.com. That being said, you better treat this collection like a limited-edition-sneaker drop because we can guarantee it will set out fast online.
If you happen to live near a Uniqlo store that will carry them, I’d say try to purchase your picks IRL or wait it out until they go on sale, which you can then take as a sign that the buy was meant to be.
