Lululemon has a long-running (pun intended) reputation for designing apparel and accessories for running, yoga and more. Now, for the first time, the brand’s sweat-ready styles include footwear. Lululemon just launched the Blissfeel running shoe, the first of four shoes it plans to release in women’s sizes this year. Want to know how to rock the brand from head to toe? We broke down the need-to-know details on the new shoes.

What shoes does Lululemon sell?
Lululemon is dipping its toe into the footwear industry with its first sneaker: the Blissfeel running shoe. It retails for $148 and is available in 10 colors, ranging from neutrals to bright red, and comes in women’s whole and half sizes 5 to 11.
Rather than use a standard last (i.e., the foot-shaped form around which a shoe is designed), Lululemon created its own based on the foot scans of over 1 million women and multiple rounds of wear testing. According to a press release, the brand worked with “biomechanics and foot morphology experts” to create a “women-first” fit specific to the common attributes of female feet, instead of shrinking down a shoe designed with men in mind. The company claims the shoe also features an “upper that supports movement” and “an energy-filled underfoot foam cushioning technology.”
While the Blissfeel running shoe is Lululemon’s first foray into footwear, it won’t be its last. In summer 2022, the activewear brand will launch Chargefeel, a cross-training shoe, in two styles: low-top and mid-top. Along with the sneakers, Lululemon will also introduce a recovery-focused slide called Restfeel. Finally, the footwear launch is set to finish “strong” in fall 2022 with the Strongfeel, a training shoe the brand says will feature “a low-profile foam” to make the foot “feel anchored.”
Although this line marks the first Lululemon-branded shoes, the company gave sneaker sales a trial run from 2017 to 2018, when it offered Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) shoes in its stores. In 2019, on the heels of the APL footwear collaboration, Lululemon CEO Calvin McDonald announced that the company planned to create its own footwear—making this introduction is at least three years in the making.
Will Lululemon make shoes in men’s sizes, too?
While the footwear line is kicking off with shoes in women’s sizes, Lululemon plans to sell shoes in men’s sizes in 2023. “We intentionally started with women first because we saw an opportunity to solve for the fact that, more often than not, performance shoes are designed for men and then adapted for women,” Sun Choe, Lululemon’s chief product officer says in a press release.
Should you try the Lululemon sneakers?
It remains to be seen whether Lululemon’s running sneakers will give legacy brands like Nike, Brooks, New Balance and Adidas a run for their money. Here at Reviewed, we know that Lululemon makes a lot of our favorite athletic apparel, including the Align Joggers, Moon Drift menswear line and AirSupport Bra. Now that Lululemon is taking its next (sneaker-clad) step, we plan to try the shoes and hope they live up to the quality we’ve come to expect from the brand.
