Dovetail Workwear Debuts New Flame-Resistant Pant Collection

Dovetail Workwear unveiled its first flame-resistant pant collection designed for use by workers within oil, gas, electrical, utility and heavy industries where the need for electrical arc and flash flame protection is required.

Dovetail’s FR workwear collection consists of two core pant designs – Britt Utility and DX Bootcut – in varying material weights each with flame resistant properties while offering the same style, function, and comfort of their original silhouettes. Providing the ultimate fit with protection, exceptional functionality, and durability,

Dovetail’s FR pants are each a walking toolbox with 11 pockets for safety glasses and tools, articulated knees for mobility, tough cuffs for added abrasion resistance, plus increased range of movement on the job with the EZWaist and crotch gusset features. All Dovetail FR pants meet safety standards PPE CAT 2, ASTM F106, and NFPA 2112 and 70E and complies for use across a variety of industrial jobs and DIY projects requiring flash protection.

The Britt Utility FR Canvas in a 9 oz midweight stretch material and the 10 oz Britt Utility FR Denim both offer durability without added weight and are treated with flame and arc resistant properties. Combining tough and tender, the heavyweight DX Bootcut in 11 oz FR Denim has inherent flame and arc resistant properties built into the material alongside Dovetail’s secret sauce of stretch for full range of movement. Each pant style offers permanent protection for the life of the garment when the manufacturer’s recommended laundering instructions are followed.

“Never has Dovetail’s mission of bringing more and better options for women been more critical than in FR apparel, as the range and quality of men’s and women’s options remains disparate. Because FR is a requirement in many occupations, women have adapted by resigning themselves to men’s pants or wearing women’s options that are less than ideal, said Sara DeLuca, co-founder and head of product development at Dovetail Workwear.

“At the recent National Association of Women in Construction conference, I was speaking with several female engineers about their days on job sites and the dreaded FR apparel they were required to wear that was stiff, thick, and ill-fitting. The new FR collection from Dovetail is designed to flip the script and give women options that fit and move well, offer breathability, and provide thoughtful and plentiful pocketing. Pants that will work for them, not against them,” DeLuca added.
