2 men arrested after police see them firing guns in Fort Myers neighborhood on New Year’s

The Fort Myers Police Office claims two males were arrested right after officers saw them taking pictures in a Fort Myers neighborhood in the early several hours of New Year’s Day.

Police say a detective and an officer had been in the Current market Street spot just right before midnight on Saturday when they listened to quite a few gunshots nearby. The two stopped and walked about the area to see if they could uncover the taking pictures.

FMPD claims the two officers read more gunshots and noticed several folks operating from the backyard of a house on Industry Road. The two officers went into the backyard to examine and discovered a crowd of people today, with two men standing nearby.

The officers say the two men had been struggling with away from the group and appeared to be holding anything. That is when law enforcement say the officers witnessed a muzzle flash and listened to a different gunshot coming from the region wherever the two adult males were standing.

Fort Myers police say the officers right away requested the adult men, later recognized as Tamaris Jiles, 36, and Terran Mcclendon, 30, to drop their weapons and set their arms up.

Police say the males complied. They say just one of the adult men was keeping a rifle and the other a handgun. An additional handgun was observed in the waistband of Mcclendon’s trousers.

Mcclendon and Jiles ended up arrested and experience a charge of firing a weapon in community.

Police did not say what the nature of the capturing was or if anybody was hurt.
